Welcome to the Danube Study Path

Following the route you can learn about fish, beavers, the first public pools of Budapest, riverside games, water vendors, and the legends of the river. If you have a smart phone download the Layar application fro free, and find out yet more than the signs reveal.

The Project

The Danube Study Path is an informative walk of 13 stops between Margit Bridge and Petőfi Bridge, along the riverbanks in Budapest. At each spot young artists, graphic designers, architects tell a piece of the Danube's history, present, or imagined future. Peep into the riverside forms of entertainment from a bygone era, learn about the river's natural treasures, or read about its legends. Come alone or with friends, walk or cycle; the whole study path or individual points await your discovery. If you feel like a rest, come to the Pier at the MAHART International Landing Stage on Belgrád quay. Lie down on the lounge beds, play board games, or date someone- all pleasant activities are welcome. Last but not least, enjoy the proximity of Budapest's Greatest natural treasure: the Danube.
